To  further ease doing business in Rwanda, the Chief Registrar of Land Titles in Rwanda informs the general public that registering transfers of commercial and industrial properties shall henceforth be accomplished in ONLY ONE DAY and in one location.

The notarization of land transfer contract and registration of these transfers shall be carried out at our zonal offices respectively Rwamagana for Eastern Province, Nyanza in southern Province, Musanze in the Northern Province , Karongi in Western Province  and the City of Kigali  in the Basement 2 of Nyarugenge Pension Plaza situated behind Sopetrad Petrol Station on KN 3 Av Avenue. Those seeking this service are asked to deposit their complete files at the above mentioned offices during morning hours (9h00-11h00 am) of every working day and will be assured of receiving the new land titles during the course of that day.

The land transfer of commercial and industrial use will no longer be done at district level; our office have more than one person with notary powers hence we can receive people any time needed.

The applicants are only required to do produce the following documents:
•    Filled out land transfer contracts downloadable from the Rwanda Land Management and Use Authority(RLMUA) website ( or you can obtain them on spot in our offices.
•    Proof of payment of transfer and notarial fees equivalent to twenty seven thousand Rwandan Francs (30,000RWF) paid into the bank account of the district where the land is located.
•    The original land title for the property being transferred (must show that the use of the property as commercial or industrial).
•    Copies of identification of the transferee and transferor.

This new procedure will become effective from April 14, 2015 and no witnesses will be required to accompany the applicants.
